LOCAL WISDOM OF HAND WOVEN NATURAL DYEDCOTTON FABRICS FOR CONSERVATION OFCHANG KERNG VILLAGE WEAVING GROUP,BANTAN SUB-DISTRICT, HOD DISTRICT,CHIANG MAI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this qualitative study were to explore: 1) context of the Chang Kerng village weaving group; 2) wisdom of handwoven cotton with natural dues; and problems encountered and guidelines for preserving and inheriting of the Chang Kerng village weaving group. This was under the geosocial context of Bantan sub-district area. Interview and focus group discussion were used for data collection conducted with a sample group of 13 group members and 19 weaving craftsmen in the community obtained by purposive sampling. Obtained data were analyzed by using content analysis. Results of the study revealed the following: 1) This weaving group employed the natural production process which relied on weaving craftsmen, good management and a group of customers who appreciated natural handicrafts. 2) The wisdom of handwoven cotton with natural dyes involved activities practiced together with ways of life of people in the community. It was transferred from the mother to the child through practice. It was a simple but patterned weaving. 3) There was a decrease in weaving craftsmen due to old age, the loss of traditional production methods, deterioration of weaving equipment and there was no continuation of weaving wisdom. 4) It should have the promotion based on the following: using natural dyed cotton products; producing hand woven fabric dyed with natural dyes; providing an opportunity for those interested to learn about the production process; and continuous marketing and production drive.

ภูมิปัญญาผ้าฝ้ายทอมือย้อมสีธรรมชาติเพื่อการอนุรักษ์ของกลุ่มทอผ้าบ้านช่างเคิ่ง ตำบลบ้านตาล อำเภอฮอด จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาในประเด็น ได้แก่ บริบทของกลุ่มทอผ้าบ้านช่างเคิ่ง ภูมิปัญญาผ้าฝ้ายทอมือย้อมสีธรรมชาติ ปัญหา และอุปสรรคในการอนุรักษ์ภูมิปัญญาผ้าฝ้ายทอมือย้อมสีธรรมชาติของกลุ่มทอผ้าบ้านช่างเคิ่ง แนวทางการอนุรักษ์และสืบทอดภูมิปัญญาผ้าฝ้ายทอมือของกลุ่มทอผ้าบ้านช่างเคิ่ง ภายใต้บริบทภูมิสังคมของพื้นที่ตำบลบ้านตาล อำเภอฮอด จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ใช้เครื่องมือคือแบบสัมภาษณ์ เก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์ และการสนทนากลุ่ม กำหนดกลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยการเลือกแบบเจาะจง ได้แก่ สมาชิกกลุ่มทอผ้าบ้านช่างเคิ่ง จำนวน 13 คน และช่างฝีมือการทอผ้าในชุมชนจำนวน 19 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา จากการศึกษาพบว่า 1) บริบทของกลุ่มทอผ้าบ้านช่างเคิ่งเป็นกลุ่มที่ใช้กระบวนการผลิตที่เป็นธรรมชาติ โดยอาศัยองค์ความรู้ของช่างทอผ้าที่มีฝีมือ และมีการบริหารจัดการที่ดี มีกลุ่มลูกค้าที่ชื่นชอบในงานหัตถกรรมที่มีความเป็นธรรมชาติ 2) ภูมิปัญญาผ้าฝ้ายทอมือย้อมสีธรรมชาติเป็นกิจกรรมที่ถูกปฏิบัติควบคู่ไปกับวิถีชีวิตของคนในชุมชน และถ่ายทอดจากแม่สู่ลูกผ่านการฝึกปฏิบัติ มีเอกลักษณ์คือความเป็นธรรมชาติ และมีความเรียบง่ายของลวดลาย 3) ปัญหาและอุปสรรคในการอนุรักษ์ ผู้ทอผ้าที่มีฝีมือ และมีความชำนาญมีจำนวนที่ลดลงเนื่องจากความแก่ชราไม่สามารถทอผ้าได้ เกิดปัญหาการสูญหายของวิธีการผลิตแบบดั้งเดิม และการทรุดโทรมของอุปกรณ์การทอ ไม่มีการสานต่อภูมิปัญญาการทอ 4) แนวทางการอนุรักษ์และสืบทอด ส่งเสริมให้มีการใช้งานผลิตภัณฑ์ผ้าฝ้ายทอมือย้อมสีธรรมชาติ ดำเนินการผลิตผ้าฝ้ายทอมือย้อมสีธรรมชาติ ให้ผู้สนใจเข้ามาเรียนรู้ในขั้นตอนต่างๆของการการผลิต และมีการจำหน่ายผลิตภัณฑ์ผ้าฝ้ายทอมือย้อมสีธรรมชาติเพื่อให้เกิดการขับเคลื่อนทางการตลาดและมีการผลิตอย่างต่อเนื่องต่อไป
